The Computer Networking: Principles, Protocols and Practice textbook is one of the winners of the first Open Textbook challenge organised by the Saylor foundation in the US. The $20,000 will be used to fund the development of other open-source textbooks.

Grégory Detal has received the 2009 Alcatel-Lucent innovation award for his MSc thesis On monitoring large-scale Wireless Mesh Networks.

Laurent Vanbever and Grégory Pardoen have received the Alcatel-Lucent innovation award for the MSc thesis entitled "Design et implémentation d'un logiciel de validation et de génération de configurations réseaux". A subset of this thesis has already been presented at INM2008.
